If you develop symptoms consistent with the infectious disease, you should seek testing and diagnosis from a qualified healthcare provider. If you suspect you are sick, stay home, except to get medical care. When you must visit a hospital or doctor’s office, call ahead so that the provider can anticipate your arrival and take precautions to keep other people from being exposed. Avoid public areas. Do not go to school or work. Do not use public transportation, ride share services, or taxis. Wear a mask whenever you do leave the house.
Also make sure to ask your doctor to alert the local or state health department if you test positive for the disease. You may be placed under active monitoring or self-monitoring and should follow any instructions provided by your local health department or health authorities.
