Derrick Jensen has authored more than 25 books, including Deep Green Resistance, A Language Older Than Words, The Culture of Make Believe, and Endgame. He is also a teacher, activist, and small farmer, and was named the “poet-philosopher of the ecological movement” by Democracy Now! In 2008, he was chosen as one of Utne Reader’s 50 Visionaries Who Are Changing Your World and won the Eric Hoffer Award. He is a cofounder of the organization Deep Green Resistance.
Jensen has written for the New York Times Magazine, Audubon, and The Sun, and was a columnist at Orion. He holds an MFA in creative writing from Eastern Washington University and a BS degree in mineral engineering physics from the Colorado School of Mines, and has taught creative writing at Eastern Washington University and Pelican Bay State Prison. He lives in Northern California on a property frequented by bears.

Lierre Keith is a writer, small farmer, and radical feminist activist. She is the author of six books, including The Vegetarian Myth: Food, Justice, and Sustainability, and is the co-author, with Derrick Jensen and Aric McBay, of Deep Green Resistance: Strategy to Save the Planet. She is also a cofounder of the organization Deep Green Resistance.
Keith has been arrested six times for acts of political resistance. She lives in Northern California, where she shares 20 acres (including a restored one-acre meadow) with giant trees and giant dogs.

Max Wilbert is a writer, organizer, and wilderness guide who has fought the Canadian tar sands megaproject and tar sands mining in Utah, resisted industrial-scale water extraction and deforestation in Nevada, advocated for the last wild buffalo in Yellowstone National Park, worked with indigenous communities in British Columbia, and participated in campaigns against police brutality and sexual violence.
He is cofounder of the Pinyon-Juniper Alliance and a member of the board of directors of Fertile Ground Institute for Social and Ecological Justice and Deep Green Resistance, for which he edits the Deep Green Resistance News Service and produces the podcast The Green Flame.
Wilbert has written for Earth Island Journal, CounterPunch, Dissident Voice, and DGR News Service; and he authored the introduction to the French translation of Earth First! Direct Action Manual and the German essay collection We Choose to Speak. He lives near Eugene, Oregon, in a communal living project.
