Janet Abrams is an artist and critic whose essays on art, architecture, and design have been published internationally, in books and periodicals including Archis, Blueprint, Ceramic Review, frieze, I.D. Magazine, The Independent, Metropolis, and the New York Times. Among her previous books, she has explored the shift from analog to digital culture in If /Then: Play—Design Implications of New Media (editor) and Else / Where: Mapping— New Cartographies of Networks and Territories (co-editor with Peter Hall). She has served as director of the University of Minnesota Design Institute, Minneapolis; editor at the Netherlands Design Institute, Amsterdam; and associate director for research at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal. She holds a PhD in architectural history, theory, and criticism from Princeton University, and an MFA in ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Winner of SITE Santa Fe’s 2014 SPREAD 5.0 competition for New Mexico artists, she practices as a sculptor, mainly working in ceramics and bronze, from her studio in Santa Fe.

Deyan Sudjic was born in London. He has worked as an editor in Milan and as a curator in Seoul and Istanbul, among many other cities. Sudjic was the founding editor of London-based Blueprint magazine and served as the director of the Venice Architecture Biennale. He is a former director of the Design Museum in London. His most recent book is The Language of Cities.
