questions you may have about this workbook

What will the Every Young Man, God’s Man Workbook do for me?

Are you making progress where it counts? Are you dealing with the same character issues or fighting the same battles you fought a year ago? Are your relationships improving? Are you closing the gap between what you believe and how you really live? Many young Christian men are discouraged by their honest answers to these questions. But there is hope: God has a plan to help His young men complete the personal drive toward spiritual maturity and genuine manhood.

Part of the acclaimed Every Man series by popular counselor and speaker Stephen Arterburn, this workbook is specially designed to help you personalize and apply the groundbreaking principles revealed in the best-selling book, Every Young Man, God’s Man. Participants will be encouraged to evaluate where they are in their spiritual journeys; to become more intimate with God and truly give Him every area of their lives; and to live lives of lasting quality, purpose, and integrity.

Is this workbook enough or do I also need to read Every Young Man, God’s Man?

Included in each weekly study you’ll find a number of excerpts from Every Young Man, God’s Man, each one marked at the beginning and end by this symbol: . Nevertheless, your best approach is to also read Every Young Man, God’s Man as you go through this companion workbook. You’ll find the appropriate chapters listed at the beginning of each weekly study.

The lessons look long. Do I need to work through each one?

This workbook is designed to promote your thorough exploration of all the material, but you may find it best to focus your time and discussion on some sections and questions more than others.

To help your pacing, we’ve designed the workbook so it can most easily be used in either an eight-week or twelve-week approach.

• For the eight-week track, simply follow along with the basic organization already set up with the eight different weekly lessons.

• For the twelve-week track, the lessons marked for Weeks 2, 5, 6, and 7 as shown can be divided into two parts (you’ll see the dividing place marked in the text).

(In addition, of course, you may decide to follow at an even slower pace, whether you’re going through the workbook individually or in a group.)

Above all, keep in mind that the purpose of the workbook is to help guide you in specific life application of the biblical truths taught in Every Young Man, God’s Man. The wide range of questions included in each weekly study is meant to help you approach this practical application from different angles and with personal reflection and self-examination. Allowing adequate time to prayerfully reflect on each question will be much more valuable to you than rushing through this workbook.
