Karen Solie was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Her collections of poems include Short Haul Engine, Modern and Normal, Pigeon, and The Living Option. She has received the Griffin Poetry Prize, the Pat Lowther Memorial Award, and the Trillium Book Award for Poetry.
