Start off your day with a bowl of apple cinnamon delight! These sweet puffs have a crunchy outside and a light, airy inside. Unlike many cereals from the grocery store, this recipe will keep soy away from the breakfast table.
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons applesauce
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
Tools
large baking sheet
parchment paper
food processor
measuring cups/spoons
spatula
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a food processor set on high, combine all ingredients until a dough forms.
Remove the dough from the food processor with a spatula. Using clean hands, roll the dough into small balls, about the size of a grape.
Place the puffs about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart on the baking sheet.
Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about seven minutes. Take out the baking sheet and swirl the pan around to roll the puffs over. Return pan to oven to finish baking for an additional eight minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before placing in an airtight container.
Serve with your favorite milk for breakfast or a snack!
