THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR reading Assassin. I hope that it and Aidan have touched your heart as much as they have touched mine. Originally, it was written as a prequel, since it takes place before Hunter and the other Valiant novels, but I decided to make it Book Four instead. So, for timeline context, this story takes place before Hunter, except for the epilogue, that brings it back to the present day after Healed, the short ending to Samurai.

After the prologue, Aidan’s story continues in the short ending to Assassin, called Victorious. There, you will get to see Aidan interact with some of the other Chosen and it takes place in the present day after Healed, the short ending to Samurai.

Aidan’s story is filled with so much darkness and pain. From the moment he was ripped away from his parents and sold to the slavers who tortured him, and broke him until they rebuilt him into an assassin. Sevylia gave some light into his life, but upon her death, he gave up their child and tried to run from his past.

Maybe some of you reading this feel as if your life has been one bad thing after another. Maybe you feel hopeless, as if you haven’t had a break and find yourself asking God, why? You aren’t alone. Many of us feel the same way and ask the same questions. There is so much evil in the world—enough to break us, but God is still there, behind all that evil, ready and waiting to bring light into our lives. Just like Radon wants to do with Aidan.

Radon has a plan and future for Aidan, just as God does for you and I.

Assassin parallels with the Bible story of Saul turned to Paul. Once, he was a Pharisee, a man who persecuted the early Christians. He would capture them and sometimes even hurt them for their beliefs in Jesus Christ. Then, one day, God blinded him and allowed Saul to suffer in that blindness for three days. For afterward, God allowed Saul to be healed. Saul became Paul and dedicated his life to Jesus from that moment forward. He wrote most of the New Testament and witnessed to countless people.

Once, Aidan was an assassin who killed many people. He has darkness in his heart, but will he choose to follow it or to follow the One who has Chosen him to fight against Corruption? His story continues, as does Jared, Averella, Nsi, Akari’s, and all the other Chosen you haven’t met yet. Rogue is Valiant Book Five and will bring back some of your favorite Chosen.
