CONCLUSION

In writing, as in speaking, a willingness to express themselves, and a confidence in their ability to do so, must be developed in the students. The constant reminders of errors can have only negative results. Tender language neophytes need a steady stream of positive reactions rather than a harrassing hail of criticism if their interest in language is to sprout to full bloom. Most students do not learn to write well, but they should learn to express themselves in an understandable manner. The skill level attained in writing will likely be the lowest of any of the four language skills, but writing is extremely valuable in the classroom as a means of establishing competence and developing productive performance skills.
