About the Authors

John Bell is the chair of the Performing and Fine Arts Department at De-Sales University. He was formerly an associate professor of theatre and the musical theatre coordinator at the University of Central Florida. Professor Bell holds a master of fine arts degree in musical theatre from San Diego State University and a bachelor of music degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. Prior faculty appointments include director of music theatre and opera at James Madison University and associate professor of theatre at the University of Michigan-Flint.

Steven R. Chicurel is the chair and an associate professor of theatre at the University of Central Florida. He has a bachelor of music degree from Mars Hill College, master of music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, the Johns Hopkins University, and doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Kentucky. Prior faculty appointments include associate professor and director of musical theatre at Northern Kentucky University and Mars Hill College. He is a certified course instructor with testing privileges and service distinction of Estill Voice International, and is also the coauthor of Geography of the Voice: Anatomy of an Adam’s Apple.
