Solution—Fordney Helps Sergeant Reynolds

If a person pretends to be deaf in one ear the truth can be discovered with certainty by two persons simultaneously whispering different words in the two ears. If one ear is quite deaf the person can naturally understand what is whispered in the other ear and can repeat it. But if the person can hear with both ears what is whispered, he cannot repeat the conversations. Try it on your friends!
