Congratulations, pilot.
If you are reading this reference guide, then you have just passed the critical first stage on your journey to becoming a fully qualified capsuleer in service of your nation’s armed forces, or in some cases, your assigned megacorporation.
Presentation of this guide comes after successful clone synchronization and completion of your flight trials for frigate-class vessels. If you are reading this reference guide with pages bound in leatherette, then further congratulations. You have been presented with a numbered, limited edition of your first reference guide as reward for completion of your flight trials with scores that placed you in the ninety-eigth percentile of your graduating class, an impressive achievement in and of itself.
This guide is designed to provide you with an overview and an understanding of the basic subsystems of vessels that you will encounter during your time in service as a frigate pilot. It will provide a light, digestible history on the standard classes of frigate that are to be found in service, as well as basic technical details on their subsystems, capability, and common usage in the field.
For more detailed information, including datacores containing full blueprints and hardware specifications, as well as any advisory and caution notes on hazardous, radioactive, corrosive, or otherwise harmful materials, please contact your commanding officer. They will direct you to your division quartermaster for further information.
This guide is intended as reference, and while it contains information that may prove vital for improving your flight performance, it will not discuss tactics, engagement policies, or how to best utilize the information provided. This is for you to decide, as a competently trained and qualified frigate pilot.
This edition also includes a guest chapter from Max Singularity, Pontiff of the Sixth Empire, an Imperial house with holdings in the Empire and State, who has provided his personal insight into several technical aspects of the vessels you may encounter during your duties.
The technical information herein has been assembled as a guide for all newly graduated frigate pilots, and contains data from the Ministry of War Data Repository, House of Records Scientific Archives, Federal Intelligence Office Public Archives, Republic Security Services War Library, and the Directive Enforcement Department Yulai Archives & Records Repository.
It is provided to further enhance your awareness of risks and dangers in the field, as well as to give you an understanding of the capability of vessels you may pilot or face off against in live fire exercises and actual combat in service of your nation.
Further guides will be provided as your training continues to progress, your skills continue to evolve, and you graduate to piloting further classes beyond frigates.
Good luck with your further training, pilot.
