administrator (ad-MIN-uh-stray-tur)
a person who leads a business or organization
deke (DEEK)
to pretend to go one way, then go in the other direction; it is a move used to trick opposing players
dribble (DRIB-uhl)
to continuously bounce a basketball with one hand; dribbling is the only way a player can move the ball around the court while maintaining possession
intercept (in-tur-SEPT)
to catch a pass made by an opposing player
lane (LAYN)
the area on a basketball court underneath the basket and bounded by the end line and the foul line
pressure (PRESH-ur)
a strong influence or force applied to an opposing player or team
rally (RAL-ee)
to make a comeback
rebound (REE-bound)
to catch the basketball after a shot has been missed
screen (SKREEN)
a move by an offensive player to block a defensive player in order to free up a teammate to pass, shoot, get open, or drive to the basket
shoo-in (SHOO-in)
someone or something that is certain to succeed
