how to draw a | chick |
Steps: 11
Difficulty:
Fluffy chicks grow into chickens. In this drawing, the chick’s legs disappear under the feathers, angling forward and then back again. These zigzagging bones connect into the hips, which are level with the tip of the wing. |
1 Rotate your paper 45 degrees to the left. For the chick’s body, draw this unusual shape that looks like a cartoonish face. |
2 Rotate your paper back to straight, and draw the round and curling shape of the chick’s head. |
3 Draw a slightly curved line out from the curling parts of the head. This is the start of the beak. |
4 Finish the beak by drawing the upper and lower curves. |
5 Make the upper and lower curves of the eye. |
6 Draw a curving line around the eye, and shade in the pupil. |
7 Continue the small interior mark from step 1, curling it up and back to make the wing. Add the wing feathers. Draw the legs, using pairs of lines that angle down. |
8 Draw the feet and claws. |
9 Shade the edges of the chick with soft, back-and-forth shading and looping. |
10 Make a highlight in the eye with a kneaded eraser, and darken the rest of the eye. |
11 Shade a shadow around the feet with horizontal strokes. |
