CHAPTER TWELVE

“You may kiss the bride.”

Morgan pulled the veil over Jamila’s head, revealing the beautiful face that had him captivated. He wiped the tear that ran down her face then kissed her lips, tasting the saltiness of her tears. And he wasn’t about to be discreet in front of their guests. All one hundred of them would witness the way a man kissed the woman he would spend the rest of his life with.

He deepened the kiss, fully taking her lips, pulling them inside of her mouth to get the full flavor of his new wife.

The crowd cheered and clapped but he still didn’t let go. He kissed her for all the years he wanted her and then some. And she returned his kisses just the same, kissing him for all the years she ignored him when she could’ve already had a good life with a good man.

When they finally ended the kiss, Jamila stared into his eyes and he stared into hers. For a moment in time, no one was there but them.

“I love you,” he said.

“I love you,” she told him.

The minister pronounced them husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan David and they walked down the aisle, stepping on red and pink rose petals.

“Woo! Those are my best friends,” Nia yelled as she followed them, seeing as though she was Jamila’s maiden of honor. “Woo! I love you guys!”

The crowd continued cheering until Morgan and Jamila made it down the aisle. They continued to the courtyard where guests hugged them, shook hands, and swooned over the new couple.

Caspian slapped hands with Morgan and said, “Congratulations, man.”

“Thank you. I appreciate that.”

Once everyone had congratulated them, Morgan took Jamila by the hand and whisked her away to the bridal suite. It was the room where Jamila’s mom had prepped her – makeup and all – for her big day, not now it was a room for just the both of them to fully take in this moment. They were married.

Hallelujah!

Morgan turned the lock on the door and said, “We did it, baby. You are now all mine.”

“I like being all yours,” Jamila said, walking over to him and throwing her arms around his neck. She kissed his lips and then reached for his zipper.

Morgan jumped. “Ay, woman. You’ll have to wait for tonight to get the husband special.”

She grinned. “I’m not waiting. I can get the husband special right here. It’s just us.”

“You’re right. It’s just us,” he said taking another long kiss. And then he hiked up her gown and walked her backward to the wall.

“Hurry up, Morgan. We don’t have a lot of time before my mother comes looking for us.”

“I’m trying. Your gown is in my way.”

Jamila chuckled. “This is hilarious.”

Morgan got a good, strong grip on her and when he connected their bodies in one smooth stroke, Jamila whimpered.

He asked, “Is it still hilarious, Mrs. David?”

“Mmm...no, it’s not,” she said druggingly. Her moans grew louder with each pump.

“You may want to keep it down before they hear us,” he told her.

“How do you—mmm—oh my goodness. How do you suppose I do that? Ah! Morgan! Mmm, Morgan. Morgan!”

Jamila belted a scream and Morgan covered her mouth with his right hand while he grunted and screamed internally.

Boom, boom, boom.

The knock at the door shook them out of their lovemaking and magically put the feeling back into Jamila’s legs.

“Is everything alright in there?” her mother asked. “We’re waiting for y’all.”

“We’ll be right out, Ma.”

“You sure about that?”

Morgan and Jamila burst out laughing.

“I think she heard us,” Morgan said. “I told you to keep it down.”

“So what? It’s our day.”

“Yes, it is. Now come on. Let’s go take pictures, party with the fam and then you’re all mine for the rest of the night.”

“I like the sound of that.”
