SKY BALLZ

SKILL LEVEL:

EASY

INTERMEDIATE

ADVANCED

APPROXIMATE TIME:

15 minutes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

+ 1 Ninja Stress Ball (from chapter 11)

+ 1 Tablecloth Parachute (from chapter 12)

+ 1 latex balloon

OPTIONAL:

+ Swivel hooks

+ String

LET’S BEGIN

MODIFY YOUR NINJA STRESS BALL

1.  Remove the mask from one of your Ninja Stress Balls.

2.  Open the mouth of your latex balloon wide enough that you can fit the entire Ninja Stress Ball inside. Then tie it off at the top.

3.  Fit the ninja mask back over the ball, leaving the tied-off portion of the balloon exposed at the top so you can tie a string to it.

ADD A PARACHUTE

1.  Look for the two loops at the end of your parachute cord and carefully thread a piece of string through both of them and tie it off.

2.  Tie the other end of the string to the Ninja Stress Ball, making sure the string is attached underneath the knot. Cut off the excess string and your Sky Ball is finished.

TIME TO PLAY

1.  To pack the parachute, simply hold it at the top so the strings hang down straight. Squeeze all of the air out of the material, fold it in half, then start rolling the parachute up into a ball toward the strings. When you get to the strings, carefully wrap those around the parachute as well. This will keep the bundle together, but will also unravel fairly easily when you throw it.

2.  The next part is effortless! Simply throw the bundle high into the air and watch your parachute open up and float gently back to the ground.

HELPFUL HINT: The tighter you pack your chute, the longer it’ll take for it to open.

PRO TIP: If you’ve made the Skyblaster Slingshot from chapter 30, use it to see how high you can shoot your Sky Ballz. But make sure to pack and wrap them extra tight so they don’t open too early.

NEXT LEVEL: If the lines start twisting after a bad throw, it’s not hard to unravel them. But if you want to go one step further, just add a barrel swivel to your balloons. These clips make it really easy to unhook and untangle the lines in a hurry. You can find them in the fishing aisle of your local supercenter.

Playing with these Sky Ballz and the Skyblaster Slingshot will attract a lot of attention from onlookers, and it might just make you the coolest one at the park.
