When everything around seems anxious, fearful, or complacent. When they fight to break you. When they judge and study your every move. Pay attention. It’s time to stand still and close your mouth. If you don’t have the words, don’t try to find them; wait for the Holy one to fill you. Does the great Hadassah grow herself? Does she prepare her own steps? Does she strategize? No, her steps are ordered. Her buds, the beginning of fresh fruits and flowers, appear at their purposed time. She experiences pain from the pruning, cold from the bareness produced from the winter season, and she basks in the honor the Lord provides when He shows her off in the spring and summer when her buds grow to their full potential. Feeding and nourishing a nation to the glory of her creator. Can she take the credit? No. Stand still, Hadassah, and see the salvation of the Lord.
From the Deep
Love at last …
Came from deep within. It manifested through the pride I feel my mother walks into the room. The memory of my father standing and clapping during church and everyone turning to look at him. It stands courageously when I’m in the lion’s den of life. It patiently stands in the gap of my complacency. Soon, it will be reflected in a beautiful, strong smile. Pure eyes staring into my soul. Eyes set on fire with a kindred vision shared between the two of us. A beautifully written love song just for us. We will hold space until the day we lead our family into His courts to gaze upon His beauty all the days of our life.
