California Roll in a Bowl

The California roll may be the most popular sushi roll in America, and the ingredients are quite simple. If you want a sushi fix but don’t want to learn how to roll it yourself, this bowl is a quick and easy way to enjoy some fresh California roll.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 2

2 cups cooked white rice

1/2 cup chopped imitation crab

1/2 medium cucumber, peeled and chopped

1/2 medium avocado, sliced

1 sheet dried seaweed, crumbled

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup rice vinegar

1/4 cup pickled sushi ginger (optional)

1. Combine all ingredients except soy sauce, vinegar, and ginger in a large bowl and mix well.

2. Evenly divide mixture into 2 serving bowls.

3. In a separate container, mix soy sauce and vinegar.

4. Drizzle sauce over rice mixture, top with ginger if desired, and serve.
