If you’ve treading water in my backlist for a while, you know that in every series, there’s going to be a book that ends in a certain way (possibly more than one), and I’ll make you want to reach through your e-reader screen with a chancleta.
And sometimes I have to do that to pivot the series to something important coming up the next.
Obviously, there’s something important coming up for the crew at the Hearth, so I wanted to be extraordinarily clear about who the villains are and aren’t going to be. Siobhan’s got a lot on her plate, so I didn’t want to devote a bunch of pages to convincing you that YOU don’t have to worry about a certain fragile relationship. I need those pages for snark and fairy grumbling.
