Marrakesh Menara Airport
Marrakesh, Morocco
D awson frowned at the car that awaited the five of them. Kane shook their contact’s hand and he beckoned them to get in, his demeanor that of an agitated local. Dawson wagged a finger at Kane before he could get in the passenger seat.
“Nah-uh. If four of us are getting in the back seat, Atlas is getting up front.”
Atlas grinned and kissed a bicep. “It’s good to be the king.”
“If there’s not enough room, I’ll sit in his lap,” offered Niner.
Atlas gave him an eye as he climbed in. “There’s room in the trunk.”
“That would look suspicious.”
“And sitting on my lap wouldn’t?”
“Why should it? I’m just here on a romantic getaway with my lover.”
Atlas glanced over his shoulder at the acrobatics in play as the others squeezed into the rear. “I’ll get in the trunk before I let him give me a lap dance.”
Dawson and Kane were in the corners, an arm each spread across the back, with Spock and Niner wedged between them.
Niner glanced back at Spock. “I feel like your thong.”
Spock cocked an eyebrow. “BD, can I get in the trunk?”
Their driver hammered on the gas the moment the last door closed. “I’m sorry for this. Langley sent me on a last-minute assignment. I’ve got a bigger vehicle for us with all the equipment in it.” He glanced in the rearview mirror and smiled. “You don’t want to drive into an airport zone loaded with weaponry. It’s bad enough I have a sniper rifle in the trunk.”
Dawson’s eyes narrowed. “Why do you have that?”
“That last-minute assignment. I had to delay the buyer’s ride from arriving.”
“Did you?” asked Kane.
“Yes, but I don’t know for how long. I’ll get you guys comms when we get to the secondary vehicle so you can get back in the loop. I understand that charter wasn’t secure?”
“That’s right.” Kane adjusted his position. “Do you think we can reach the pick-up vehicle before he gets back on the road?”
“It all depends on how good he is at changing tires. It’s possible. Why?”
“I have an idea.”
