When this transit is a conjunction, in other words when Mercury is on the same zodiac degree as one of your planets, you’re likely to feel the retrograde cycle even more strongly.

The following interpretations are written from the point of view of Mercury retrograding in conjunction with one of your planets; however, they equally apply if Mercury retrograde opposes or squares (clashes with) your planets.
