ABOUT GORDON-CONWELL THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Since the 1880s, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and its founders have stood with historic Christianity and based its educational task on three main objectives: the pursuit of Christlikeness, the proclamation of the Gospel, and the probing of Scripture. Today, no less than over a century ago, the urgent task for the rising generation of Christian leaders is to raise the standard of the truth of God’s Word with confidence, relevance and compassion to a culture adrift in doubt. The seminary’s vision is to raise up men and women who will stand in the gap, who will equip the saints, who will ground and deepen believers in the Word of God, and who will pray fervently that out of these efforts a mighty spiritual awakening and a Biblical reformation will come to our culture. In doing so, we are preparing students to courageously confront the crisis of today’s disoriented, empty and fractured lives, and to lead others toward a fuller knowledge of Jesus Christ. With the generous support of The Grace Foundation and the Van Kampen Family, and with the contributions of more than one hundred scholars, Gordon-Conwell is pleased to offer, along with Zondervan, this NIV Archaeological Study Bible as a testimony to the efficacy and fullness of God’s Word. It is our sincere hope that with this Bible, your probing of Scripture will be deepened, your proclamation of the Gospel will become more vigorous, and your pursuit of Christ will lead you to deeper intimacy with our Savior and Lord.
