Angad Paul

AS A CHILD, I was only able to know one of my grandparents. As much as my time with her was wonderful, I see ever more clearly through my nieces, nephews and now my own children the how special the relationship is.

The instant recognition and connection between children and their grandparents is something that gives true meaning to life. There is a level of unconditional love and compassion that is unique and flows both ways, obeying forces that only become more relevant as children grow older in what can be troubling world.

Just to see the interaction between my children and their grandparents is to understand happiness (and sometimes, as a parent, jealousy). Children will always love their parents, but they can do no wrong in the eyes of their grandparents!

Now I truly know that my grandmother, Naniji (as I knew her), is strong in spirit and watching over me always.
