Dear Children:

I asked Jack to write to you last week, thinking he would give you all the news, but after looking over his humorous little resume I decided that I would have to write myself and give you the real facts about him.

He is just the same—wears his oldest clothes, still late for meals, still no money. He has even overflowed the bathtub, as was his boyhood custom, and I was the one who discovered it as the water came trickling down through the ceiling to my bath house below.

He has his coconut with him and I want him to try and have it preserved although of course it is shrinking rapidly and the printing will become obliterated before long unless we try to do something about it.

I have been trying to get a film, first to take his picture, and secondly to take a picture of Fury and her puppies…

Much love
