Exaggerate or reimagine everything you see.
Now, go a little further. Have you gone far enough?
Start by making a spoon into a fish with a long tail, a city bus into a medieval invader, or a pen into a futuristic portal for oxygen in an uninhabitable environment. Or try using hyperboles to write a tall tale.
“Well now, one winter it was so cold that all the geese flew backward and all the fishmoved south and even the snow turned blue.
Late at night, it got so frigid that all spoken words froze solid afore they could be heard. People had to wait until sunup to find out what folks were talking about the night before.”
