ELLEN KLAGES is the author of the acclaimed The Green Glass Sea, which won the 2007 Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction and was the #1 Winter 2006/2007 Book Sense Children’s Pick. Her story “Basement Magic” won the Nebula Award for Best Novelette in 2005. Her short fiction has appeared widely, and her first collection, Portable Childhoods, was published by Tachyon in 2007. She is a graduate of the Clarion South Writers Workshop and also serves on the Motherboard of the James Tiptree, Jr. Award (www.tiptree.org).
