Johansson and Beatriz took us to their lab first. They wanted to grab some potions, items, and other goods.
“Here there is plenty of Overworld Potions for a full month,” Beatriz said.
“Thanks.”
“I’ve got some Slow Falling potions, Strength potions, and Regeneration potions. We’re good to go.” Johansson said.
“Wonderful, let’s get going,” Beatriz replied.
We left the lab and went to a subway station in Minerland. One of the signs read “Stronghold.”
“Here it is, boys, the train line to the Stronghold.” Johansson said.
“Wow you guys are very organized,” I said.
“Here take a Minecart from that chest and put it on the track. Then press that button, and off you go.” Johansson placed the Minecarts on the tracks.
“Like this?” Peter got in a Minecart and pressed the button. The Redstone rail activated, moving the Minecart along the tracks.
“Wow!” Peter disappeared into the tunnel ahead.
“Your turn, Calvin.” Johansson put another Minecart down for me.
“Thank you.” I sat on the Minecart and pressed the button. The Minecart moved rapidly. I entered the dark tunnel, not knowing what to expect. Eventually, the Minecart left the tunnel and entered an open area, the tracks surrounded by trees and flowers. It was a dense forest.
“This is beautiful…” I mumbled.
The Minecart went on for minutes before coming to a stop near a Station in the middle of nowhere. Peter was already there, waiting for us.
“Detective, how did it go?” He asked me.
“That was fun, I guess,” I said.
“I know, right? I didn’t know riding Minecarts could be that fun.” Peter said.
“Here are the others,” I replied.
Johansson and Beatriz arrived shortly after us. They got out of their Minecarts.
“Did you enjoy the ride?” Johansson asked us.
“Yes, it was nice,” I replied.
“I had never been in a Minecart before so it was a new experience to me,” Peter said.
“Cool. Anyway, we call this place the ‘Stronghold Station.’ Not very creative right? The Stronghold is down those stairs. Follow us.” Johansson led the way. We followed him down the staircase, which was behind the station.
In the Stronghold the place was completely lit by torches scattered all over the walls. Humans had been there countless times by the looks of it.
“We have built a safe passage for everyone who wishes to enter The End dimension,” Johansson said.
“By the way, Johansson, do you know how to take the Ender Dragon back to the Overworld with us?” I asked him.
“Not really, but we will try. Our plan is quite simple.” Johansson showed us some of the Iron Chains from his inventory. “We will attack the Ender Dragon, weaken it, and then tie these Iron Chains around the Dragon’s neck. Beatriz and I will try to drag him back into the Exit Portal, the one right in the middle of the island. From there we will try to build a giant Nether Portal big enough to fit the Ender Dragon into.” Johansson said. “You two are going to help us with the plan, of course.”
“Sounds good. We will do whatever we can,” I replied.
We reached The End’s Entrance Portal.
“Here we are guys,” Johansson said. “Are you ready?”
“Ready,” I replied.
“Ready!” Peter said.
“All ready,” Beatriz chimed in.
Johansson picked up two Splash Potions and threw them on our feet.
“Strength and Regeneration potions, now we’re ready to roll!” Johansson said, jumping into the Portal headfirst. Beatriz followed suit. Peter and I looked at each other, afraid of what was to come.
“You can go first, Detective.” Peter said.
“Are you sure? Don’t think too much before jumping into the portal, Peter. You must do it at once, like this.” I jumped into the End Portal. I closed my eyes out of fear, but I felt absolutely nothing. When I opened my eyes, I was in a chilly, strange place. The walls were made out of a yellow bricklike stone, and there were no signs of anyone else. Peter appeared right behind me.
“Where are we? Is this The End?” Peter wondered.
“Yes, I guess. Where do we go from here?” I asked him.
“Peter, Calvin! Over here!” We heard Beatriz’s voice coming from above. We looked up and saw Beatriz waving. “Take the stairs to the left!”
There was a staircase to our left. We went up, and came upon the battle between Johansson and the Ender Dragon.
“Hurry, Dad is in the middle of the battle!” Beatriz said. “Take your Crossbows and get ready to shoot!”
“Got it!” We equipped our Crossbows while Beatriz joined Johansson in the sword fight.
“Take this, Dragon!” Johansson shouted, striking the Ender Dragon twice with his Sword. Beatriz came up from behind and hit the Dragon with her weapon. The Dragon flew up and went over the Obsidian towers on the island.
“Now, shoot him!” Johansson said.
Peter and I took aim and shot arrows at the Ender Dragon. The beast cried in pain. It continued flying for a while before coming to rest on the ground near the Exit Portal. The Ender Dragon seemed tired and weak.
“Well done, boys. The Ender Dragon is weak and about to be defeated. You can put your weapons away now,” Johansson said.
“Is that it? It seemed a lot easier than fighting the Nether Dragon.” Peter commented.
“As a matter of fact, it is. I don’t know if the Ender Dragon is purposely easier than the Nether Dragon, but it doesn’t matter now. Beatriz, take the chains!”
Beatriz and Johansson tied up the Ender Dragon using their Iron Chains. The beast seemed confused, but it was too weak to take off and fly away.
“Great job, honey. I think the Dragon is ready to be taken away to the Overworld!” Johansson said. “Now, will you guys help us drag it into the Exit Portal? I still don’t know how we’re going to make it through the Portal, but we must try.”
“Okay, let’s go!”
The four of us grabbed the Dragon by the Chains and dragged it all the way up to the Exit Portal in the middle of the island. The Ender Dragon was incapable of fleeing, so it cried for help one last time. Suddenly, the passive Endermen transformed into hostile mobs.
“What’s going on here?” Johansson wondered.
The Endermen surrounded our group. They started attacking everyone. We had to leave the Ender Dragon behind and run for safety.
“The Endermen are trying to protect the Ender Dragon!” Johansson said twirling his sword in the air. “We must leave; otherwise, they’re going to defeat us all!”
“Dad!” Beatriz screamed. A group of Endermen had captured her.
“Beatriz!” I shouted.
The Endermen teleported with Beatriz disappearing right before our eyes.
“Beatriz… Beatriz!” Johansson screamed. “Where did they take my daughter?”
“Help! Detective, Johansson!” Peter was also in the hands of the Endermen who teleported away.
“Peter, Beatriz… Where did they go?” I asked.
“I have no idea. I don’t know what’s going to happen!” Johansson said. Four Endermen grabbed me by the legs. Before I could even beg for help, everything went black. I couldn’t see, hear, or even feel anything. I felt like I was in the void for eternity.
