Epilogue

Chance

A year later

"Now that we have moved into our house, can we plan the wedding?" I ask after we unpacked the last box in our house in Rock Springs.

Right after she said she'd marry me, I agreed to wait until after Vicki had the baby so that she could be part of the wedding. We also wanted to find a place here in Rock Springs. Officially, we have moved in and now we have unpacked the last box. We've got a couple of acres, which is perfect for gardening and having smaller animals, but not too big that we can’t take care of it on our own.

After some searching, we found the perfect place for her bookstore in downtown Rock Springs. The building is under renovation, and we will sign a lease after it’s completed. So we have three months to have a wedding before things get really busy. It’s the perfect time.

After all, it's been a year, and a man can only expect to be patient for so long.

"I don't know, maybe we should wait until after the bookstore is open," she teases.

I lose it because I don't want to wait another day for her to be my wife. "Then let's just go down to the courthouse today. We can have a fancy ceremony whenever you want."

I don't give her the choice. I pick her up, throw her over my shoulder, and start walking out to the car.

"Chance, stop! I already bought my dress!" she yells.

I stop and set her down. "What?" I ask convinced that I didn't hear her correctly.

"I already bought my dress. The final fitting is next week. I thought maybe we could just do something small here. Vicky is itching to decorate and plan. Since we helped while she was on bed rest, she thought this would be kind of a way to say thank you for supporting them."

"One month," I grit my teeth, not even wanting to wait that long. “I will give you one month to get this planned out. Otherwise, we go down to the courthouse."

"Deal. But I won't even need that long," she winks at me and then goes outside to the area she's prepping to be a garden.

The ringleader seems to be Vicky and Jessa's cousin's wife, Savannah, and her sister, Lily.

"Now you go over and hang out with my husband and my son for a bit, and we're going to plan the wedding," Vicki says, and they practically push me out the door, not giving me another choice.

I look back over at Jessa, and she shrugs her shoulders.

"You gave me a month, so I called in reinforcements," she says with a smile.

I get in my truck and head towards Alex's ranch with a big smile on my face.

She's going to be my wife soon enough, and she wants a small wedding. Though I'm not sure how that's going to happen. My MC is going to show up, as well as a few of the guys from the Mustang Mountain Riders. Probably half the town of Rock Springs will be attending because they've all watched her grow up.

Could have a wedding in front of just two people or two thousand people. Either way, I will be marrying her in a month and the clock is ticking.
