While the National Hockey League is dominant in virtually every respect, it is far from the only game of shinny in town. Canada and the United States are dotted with junior, minor-pro, and senior leagues with followings — while more localized — that verge on cult status. Take, for example, the ongoing interest in the Canadian Hockey League and the menagerie of team-issued souvenirs as well as commemorative pucks and programs from highlighted tournaments like the Canada/Russia Challenge and the Memorial Cup.

It’s also important to bear in mind that North America is not the only hotbed of hockey. The Kontinental Hockey League, Swedish Elite League, Finnish Elite League, and similar bodies are sprawled throughout Eurasia. These, as well, have their own lines of memorabilia and unique souvenirs.
