Acknowledgments

I always find it difficult to write the acknowledgments section of a book. Firstly, because I’m in a daze as I cannot quite believe I’ve written another novel. Secondly, because a few lines in a book never seems like enough to express how I feel. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped me to progress my writing career, and blessed that I am in a profession where I get rewarded for doing what I love.

To Madeleine Milburn, thank you for everything. I still can’t quite believe I’m signed with such a wonderful agent. To my publishers Bookouture and the talented team of people behind it, thank you as always for bringing my book to fruition. To my editor Keshini Naidoo, I know I’m on the right track when I get a side note on my edits saying “It’s disgusting...I LOVE it!” Dark minds think alike and yours is always a joy to behold. Speaking of dark minds, I could not write this without mentioning the wonderful Angie Marsons, Julie Forrest and Mel Sherratt. It’s true, crime authors really are the nicest people you could meet. I’ve been very fortunate to befriend many more fantastic people this year. Facebook has a lot to answer for! To my family and extended family, thanks for putting up with me as I throw myself into producing yet another book.

To the book clubs and all the lovely people who have read and reviewed my books. Thanks so much to you all. I love hearing from my readers and you truly brighten my day.

As a former member of the emergency services, I was thrilled to spend my first Christmas at home with my family. I will never lose sight of how lucky I am. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way.
