Apple Butter–Walnut Dump Cake

MAKES 1 (9 × 13-INCH) CAKE

Sometimes it seems that fall afternoons might be too busy for baking. Not so! This wonderful dessert has all of those classic fall flavors you crave, yet takes just minutes to prepare.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 × 13-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Spread the apple pie filling evenly in the prepared pan. Arrange the apple slices evenly over the pie filling. Dollop with the apple butter.

Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the fruit. Sprinkle the walnuts evenly over all. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the cake is set and golden brown.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes.

Spoon into individual dessert dishes. If desired, serve with a scoop of cinnamon or vanilla ice cream.
