MAKES 1 (8 × 8-INCH) CAKE
Another way to say “autumn” is applesauce gingerbread. A cold, blustery day begs you to spend 10 minutes in the kitchen and prepare dessert for those you love. Top each serving with sweetened whipped cream and memories will be made.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8 × 8-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Pour the applesauce evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the gingerbread mix evenly over the applesauce. Distribute the butter slivers evenly over the top.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the cake is set and golden brown.
tip: There are many varieties of applesauce available in the supermarket today. Substitute 24 ounces of your favorite for the chunky applesauce in the recipe.
