Bosnian Style Meatballs

The Bosnian style meatballs are famous for their crumbly texture, unique taste and aroma and now you can bring those exotic flavors home by using this recipe.
Ingredients (8 servings)
1 lb. of ground beef
1 egg
½ cup of breadcrumbs
¼ cup of lukewarm water
1 garlic clove, minced
1 small onion, chopped
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
1 tablespoon of parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon of flour
1 can (8 ounces) of tomato sauce
1 teaspoon of dry oregano
1 teaspoon of fresh basil, chopped
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
Mix the ground beef with black pepper, salt, water, parsley, nutmeg, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic and onions in a large bowl. Make meatballs out of this mixture and coat them with flour. Add oil to a large skillet and place it over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for 4 minutes per side. Transfer the meatballs to a plate. Add 1 tablespoon of flour to the skillet and stir-cook until golden brown. Toss the onions in and sauté until soft. Stir the tomato sauce, basil and oregano in and cook on a simmer. Add the meatballs, cover and cook for 20 minutes. Serve warm with spaghetti and garnish with parsley.
