First and foremost, I need to acknowledge that my acknowledgement pages are really long, but I just hate the idea of missing anybody who’s worked hard on this book with me, and that means thanking a lot of people. As always, I’d like to start by thanking my friends and family for supporting me, and by supporting me, I mean dealing with my mood swings, constant self-loathing, and general hermit-like behavior without smothering me with a pillow while I slept. Thank you to Chance Miller, who the world will one day know as NYT bestselling author, C.W. Sabre. You spent hours fleshing out characters, listening to ridiculous plot lines, and helping me create some of my favorite characters to date. Who would have thought that a free copy of my book would have led to the best writing partner I’ve ever had? Also, thank you to Jo Michaels for making my book beautiful and thank you to K.M. Walther and Heidi Johnson for making my book legible. Heidi, you went above and beyond with your superior editing and excellent cheerleading. Your unwavering enthusiasm is contagious and both your students and I are lucky to have found you. The world needs more editors (and teachers) like you.
