About the Author
Carl leaned towards a Pagan path from early childhood but did not find his feet firmly on that path until having tried a variety of other spiritualities along the way. In 1995 he began to attend Pagan festivals and openly display his long-held beliefs. The warmth and sincerity of the Pagan Community was exactly what he’d been trying to find.
Although he spent time practicing group magick and still has ties to a coven, Carl has long been a Solitary Pagan. His efforts to build the Pagan Community may not seem like a typical priority for Solitaries, but he believes this duality is the future of Paganism. Carl has long been a student of both nature and energy, two building blocks of modern Paganism. As a historian, he enjoys researching and teaching about how ancient beliefs can be blended into a modern spirituality. Carl began teaching at Pagan events and festivals in the late 1990s and continues to teach to this day. While best known for his work on incense and incense making, he has long taught about making and using ritual tools, Guardians and the building of community, and other topics that bring life to a full Pagan life.
Carl currently lives with his family in Western Oregon. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in both History and Sociology.
