The implementation of self-directed work teams at Florida’s Aero Technical Components has freed workers to make decisions formerly made by management. The result: lower costs and better products. “Before you had to go to somebody and ask what you had to do all the time, and now you put out a better product,” said machine operator Joe Davis.
