I would like to dedicate this book to my dear friend Carrie Anne Gosselin Wyman, who is fighting every day like a warrior queen against the battle of cancer. A true inspiration and a soul of true strength and spirit.
A strength that knows no bounds and a great friend that will always be family in my heart, even when Heaven has claimed an Angel with your soul.
This poem is for you and your family.
Strength.
The strength of hearts beats in times,
Of failing health our body chimes
It tells us it’s tired of pain that’s too much,
But our strength remains, with the cheeks we touch,
The strength of family that is by our side,
The hearts of others that we pride,
The sounds of laughter replace the sorrow,
For those are the sounds of tomorrow,
Those are the sounds of forevermore,
That is held in the heart of Heaven’s open door,
Not the tears to hold beyond
But the sights of smiles, are found and fond
Those memories held so dear
And close to hearts forever near
Will be the sight taken with me
The children I love having on my knee
The giggles and candy wrappers,
The jumpers and the sound of clappers,
The fun of life that fills my soul
With my grandchildren that fill me whole.
With my husband who is so dear,
With his love he’s shown every day of the year
My children of which I am so proud,
To hear their voices happy and loud
So I hold your hands and say a prayer
As I face the new life with every last one of you there
The strength of me, will never die,
For I am the strength passed on in each of your lives.
