Super Foods That Boost Testosterone

image

ALTHOUGH WE USUALLY associate low levels of testosterone with men in their 50’s and beyond, more and more younger men are suffering from it. Stress, being overweight, certain medications, and medical issues are some of the reasons that men in their 40’s, 30’s, and even their 20’s may suffer from diminishing stores of this hormone.

If you’ve experienced a lack of energy, low libido, depression, poor muscle tone and lack of sexual interest, you may be able to boost your testosterone levels naturally with a few tasty foods.

By following a “testosterone diet” you could see a dramatic increase in sexual performance and interest, enjoy more energy and stamina, and your sperm count may go up, along with stronger erections.

The following foods are safe for nearly everyone but be sure to talk to your doctor before following any diet. And, as with everything in life, eat all foods in moderation. Even healthy foods can be bad for you if eaten in mass quantities.

Add these super foods to your regular diet:

Oysters

High in zinc, these ugly-looking creatures can enhance testosterone in a big way. Enjoy fresh oysters raw or sautéed with some of the other foods listed below.

Steak

Lean, red meat is also packed with zinc—a naturally aphrodisiac and testosterone booster. For those who love steak it’s good to know that enjoying it regularly is actually good for sexual health. Just be sure to trim off all visible fat before cooking or eating it and try to buy organic meat if possible.

Other Red Meats

Feel free to include other testosterone enhancing meats such as roast, lamb, and pork chops. Again, choose lean cuts that are preferably organic so you avoid added hormones and chemicals.

Poultry

Chicken and turkey breast are filled with excellent levels of zinc, which can help overcome low levels of testosterone, but they also contain tryptophan. Although this amino acid doesn’t boost your testosterone, it can help reduce stress levels since tryptophan has a calming effect.

Nuts and Beans

Nuts contain good fats, especially walnuts and almonds. Beans are high in fiber and low in calories. Include plenty of beans in your diet since they have good levels of zinc. If you find that beans leave you a bit gassy, take some Beano beforehand. With nuts, enjoy a handful a day and reap the many benefits they contain. Their good fats can help ward off heart disease and the zinc they contain will give a healthy shot to your libido.

Low Fat Dairy

Add low fat dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cottage cheese to your diet as well since they’re all good testosterone-enhancing foods. Recent studies have also shown that by adding more low-fat dairy products to your diet you may be able to lose weight without even trying.

If your testosterone levels are low, try adding some or all the above testosterone-boosting foods to your daily meals and watch your libido and energy take off.
