Author’s Note

Thank you so much for reading Intentional Grounding. This story came to me the summer of 2016 and I knew I had to write it. It took one week to finish my first draft of the novella, but the next step was to write the rest of Jack and Paige’s love story. I started the novel almost immediately, but then life threw me some major stumbling blocks in the form of personal loss. Grief can either be a great motivator for creativity, or it can zap all that creativity right out of you. Unfortunately, in my case it was the latter. I quit writing altogether. It wasn’t until we were blessed with a miracle baby that I started to feel that creative fire spark back to life. I finally started working on the novel and preparing the novella for publishing.

I need to give a huge shout-out to some very important people in my life who have made this all possible. To Rikki, thank you for being my sounding board and my very first beta reader. I was too scared to trust anyone else with my words, out of fear that it was total garbage. Thank you for helping me evaluate my work and grow as a writer.

To my husband: words cannot describe how thankful I am for you. You pushed me to follow my dreams, even when I was afraid. You let me read my stories to you and gave me feedback, which was especially helpful when I was being completely unrealistic. You made sure I ate and stayed hydrated when I was hyper-focused and lost in my book. But most of all, you love me unconditionally and always help me to thrive. I love you so much.

To my baby boy: you helped bring me back to life. Being your mommy is the greatest blessing in the world and I hope that by following my dreams, I can be an example to you that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. I love you forever and always.

I really hope you enjoyed reading the start of Jack and Paige’s love story and that you will finish their journey by reading In the Grasp.
