Years ago, my wife showed me how to cook bacon in a microwave oven. It is still the best method for me, and Shorey enjoys doing it too. Depending on the thickness of the bacon, the power of your microwave oven, and your taste preferences (crisp or very crisp bacon), the cooking time varies. I cook my bacon for 4 minutes at full power, and if that is not enough, I cook it in 30-second increments until it is done to my taste (usually in 3½ to 4 minutes). It is great in BLTs and other sandwiches, with fried eggs, or crumbled in a salad.
Don’t forget to cover the bacon with paper towels to prevent it from splattering all over the microwave.

Line a large plate with paper towels and arrange the bacon slices on top. The slices should touch but not overlap. Place a piece of paper towel over the bacon, so it rests on top. Place in the microwave and cook at full power for 3 minutes, then check the bacon. Microwave for another 30 seconds if you like it crisper, and then for another 20 to 30 seconds, if needed. Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy.
