A riff on the classic Whiskey Sour, this deliciously zesty drink will make you pucker up—so go stand under the mistletoe!
MAKES 1 DRINK
2 oz [60 ml] whiskey
1 oz [30 ml] Simple Syrup (page 23)
1/2 oz [15 ml] fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz [15 ml] fresh lime juice
1 egg white
1 or 2 drops grenadine, for garnish
Put a big cube of ice in an old fashioned glass or chill a coupe glass. Pour the whiskey, simple syrup, lemon juice, lime juice, and egg white into a shaker. Shake vigorously until foamy. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Garnish with a drop or two of grenadine.
