Abstract blossoms abound in this knitted equivalent of a still-life painting, complete with a mitered frame of creamy white garter stitch. The intarsia is worked with separate bobbins for each color. The experience is much like painting by numbers, but with yarn.

One 36" (90 cm) long or longer circular (circ) needle size US 8 (5 mm)
One 36" (90 cm) long or longer circular needle size US 7 (4.5 mm)
Change needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) over Still Life Chart
Throw
Using larger needle, CO 160 sts. Begin Still Life Chart; work until entire Chart is complete. BO all sts.
Finishing
Side Edging: With RS facing, using circ needle and A, pick up and knit 180 sts evenly spaced along side edge.
Rows 1-3: Knit.
Row 4: K1, M1, knit to last st, M1, k1–182 sts.
Repeat Rows 1-4 nine times–200 sts. BO all sts.
Repeat for opposite side.
Bottom Edging: With RS facing, using smaller needle and A, pick up and knit 164 sts evenly spaced along bottom edge.
Work Rows 1-4 of Side Edging 10 times–184 sts. BO all sts.
Repeat for top edge. Sew corner seams.
