Thank you for reading my debut novel. It was started as a distraction from world events during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. I hope you enjoy the story and meeting the characters.
Most acronyms, military terms, slang and foreign phrases used are either further explored in the story or are self-explanatory, but I have added a glossary to the back of the novel for extra convenience. I have occasionally opted to use some American-English words instead of their more usual English counterparts but have retained standard English spelling throughout. Also, I have used whiskey when American or Irish, and whisky for Scottish.
I have included information in the historical notes at the end that contains some spoilers, so you should avoid it until after finishing the story. Please feel free to ignore it if you don’t wish to know more about the real-life places and people who inspired some of the novel’s characters and events.
