BREAKING NEWS: FIRE AT THE DUNLOW ESTATE
The Dunlow family had to move out of their ancestral home in the north-east of the New Forest following a fire in the manor early on Sunday morning. Several rooms have been heavily burned and many more have smoke damage.
The quick thinking of the estate owner, Timothy Dunlow, slowed the spread of the fire. Before vacating the property, he closed many of the doors.
None of the Dunlow family were seriously harmed, although Timothy Dunlow did sprain his wrist when leaving the property.
The property is grade one listed, so repairs will be costly. It is unlikely the family will stay on the estate while work is in progress.
This fire comes after the shooting of a local school girl, Melanie Pirt, on the grounds of the estate on 9 October. Questions are being raised as to whether these two events are linked. The detectives leading the case declined to comment.
