Call connected at 19:18.
‘Hello, how can I help you?’
‘Hello, this is Detective Gabe Martin. Is that Terrie?’
‘Oh, yes. Hello, detective.’
‘Gabe is fine. We’ve been trying to get in contact with Jordan since this morning. His college said he didn’t go in today.’
‘Um, no. He wasn’t feeling well. He was home today. I guess he didn’t hear the phone.’
‘Right. Is he there now?’
‘He’s just left.’
‘Do you know if he’s taken his mobile? I tried calling that, but it went straight to voicemail.’
‘Yes, that, uh, makes sense. He was watching TV with me and fiddling on his phone until about half an hour ago, when he suddenly got cross. He wouldn’t tell me what was going on, and he threw his mobile at the wall. It’s broken.’
‘Jordan saw something on his phone that upset him, then he left the house?’
‘I assume it was something on his phone. He wouldn’t let me look.’
‘Did he say where he was going?’
‘He barely said a thing. Just grabbed his hoodie and ran out.’
‘Okay, Terrie. Please ask Jordan to give me a call when he gets home. He can leave a message if there’s no one here.’
‘I’ll tell him. Can I, I mean. Is he in trouble?’
‘I hope not.’
