Chapter 35 Aella

SIEGFRIED REMBRANDT, so that was the name of the guy who’d been filling up my head with some of the raunchiest dreams I’d ever experienced. When he started to talk, my whole body pulsed and I couldn’t keep my eyes off of him. He was a bit of a show off, breathing fire and puffing all that smoke. An interesting switch from the dazed and confused guy I met in the Groove Brew, who couldn’t stop staring at my tits. When he found me in the back of the room and those eyes locked on me, I had to look away, I couldn’t let him see what he did to me. Mary always said that the key to getting and keeping a guy interested was to show only the slightest bit of interest yourself. Seeing as she always seemed to be talking to one guy or another, I would say her advice must be sound. Then again, she was a knockout and loved to be the center of attention, whereas I’d had enough of that in Amsterdam. As soon as Siegfried finished his speech, I slipped out of Alabaster Hall and headed for my first real college English class. I couldn’t help as I maneuvered through the groups of people, but to wonder about that girl who had been on stage with Siegfried. Ryane something or other. They seemed awfully familiar with one another. Was she his girlfriend or just a girl friend? Why was I obsessing? The Deviant Class President was articulate, and reminded me of his father, King Teague, although he wasn’t quite as charismatic. While he commanded the room and his presence was hard to miss, there was still something lacking. Like he was reaching for his authority, rather than settling into it. It was intriguing. The group of them was captivating and they seemed genuine in their roles.

All during class I kept getting text updates from Collette letting me know that Greisen was on the mend. The pics she sent showed he was pretty bruised, but he looked like she was taking good care of him. I felt guilty for not going over to see them after everything, but I had to work. Collette was insisting I come by for lunch, but I had to decline. Just because I was being sponsored didn’t mean I was going to slack off and not keep my job. I had my uniform top in my bag as I had a shift after my morning classes. Then I was going to be studying my ass off the rest of the night. She didn’t seem to like that response, as all she said was ‘whatever,’ with a sad faced selfie. Those two really ran hot and cold, one moment they were super friendly and accommodating, but the moment you said no to either of them it was nuclear winter.
