Dear Penpal

Mother and I watched a very boring show called This Land. She likes to practice her english and see other parts of Canada. Then some special news came on. They were very serious. It was about a british diplowmat in Montreal named James Cross. He was kidnapped by delivery men disguised with a birthday present. I do not know what a diplowmat is but he must be important to get presents delivered. They surprised the maid with guns and charged in. The kidnappers said they want 23 prisoners freed or else they will kill James Cross. I thought 23 for one is not a fair trade unless it is for Dave Keon so no way will the police go for it. I asked mother why the maid did not carry a gun. She looked at me like it was a stupid question but then she said maybe she did but the delivery men were too fast.
