If you’ve followed me on social media, you know that I’m a big Dungeons & Dragons player. I’ve played the game since the late 1970’s/early 1980’s. It’s been a constant source of inspiration for books, stories, and a way for me to explore the possibilities of life. Sometimes it takes playing a character who’s strong for us to find that strength in ourselves.
Since 2015, I’ve been playing with one group of friends. We’ve kept characters around while players had to leave the table for months on end and found a way to stay connected during the pandemic. These people are my chosen family. We call ourselves The Murder Hobos.
I cannot let this book end without acknowledging the members. I think it’s important to let the world know who they were, and which character they brought to life at the table. While the characters have changed and evolved between the game and the plot of the books, I tried to capture the core personality of each one.
