Tip 39: Unfinished Business

In hell there is no other punishment
than to begin over and over again
the tasks left unfinished in your lifetime.

André Gide

In matters artistic, there's something mysterious and romantic about things that are unfinished. There's a certain allure and fascination about an unfinished symphony, novel or painting.

However, in everyday life there’s nothing at all alluring about things that are unfinished — quite the opposite, in fact. They sap your energy and leave you feeling frustrated, bad tempered and drained.

Are there things in your life that are 'unfinished'?

imageDo you have any unfinished business with a former partner, friend or colleague?

Make a list of all those unfinished items and decide once and for all whether you want to complete them, delegate them or drop them. Some projects can be left for so long that we no longer have the enthusiasm for them that we once did. They may have become irrelevant or no longer aligned with who we are or what we want in life.

I challenge you this week to take steps to eliminate all the unfinished stuff in your life. I guarantee it will make a big difference to the way you feel.

Two things rob people of their peace of mind;
work unfinished and work not yet begun.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn
