11. HYMN TO ATHENA

I sing to Pallas Athena, dread guardian of the city.
Warfare is the province of Athena and Ares:
sacked cities, battle cries, and wars;
she guards people setting out and returning home.
Hail Goddess! Grant us prosperity and luck.
