All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
—J. R. R. TOLKIEN
But what happens when you feel like you’re on track with your destiny? And there’s no longer anything to feel conflict over because for all intents and purposes this is all you’ve ever wanted and you should be happy?
You see, sometimes stability can be uninspiring. Once your life reaches a certain state of predictability, it can be tough to get motivated to start something new. Or challenge yourself. Or create a higher standard for behavior. Or even get out of bed. Or off the table.

EncourageMINT Julep. (Yes, I am milking this pun for all it’s worth.)
Ingredients
* basmati rice
* a box of premade curry (preferably the kind that comes in those sealed silver bags that look like you’re about to go into space)
* a goal/reminder for yourself (must prepare separately)
Instructions
First bring water to a boil and make your rice. Or reheat rice left over from a prior meal or recipe. Depends on what you have at your disposal.
Next you will need to remove the curry from the bag and then you’ll write your inspiring message on a piece of paper that you are comfortable accidentally eating. The best way to get the curry out is to cut a corner off the bag and squeeze the curry onto the rice as if you were icing a cake and for some unknown reason had decided to make your own frosting from scratch in a ziplock bag. You will not find that recipe here.
Once you have written your inspiring message, you must become one with the meaning behind the words. The best way to do this is to eat it. Then let its meaning sink into your stomach acid and absorb its way through your bloodstream and into your heart.
Sometimes you need a little bit of stimulation of the senses to put the spice back in your step.
Don’t let it get you down. It’s only cumin nature.
PRO TIP: The cardinal rule of rice making is two parts water to one part rice. But what they don’t tell you is that you’re going to need at least three times the patience/planning because nothing kills your ambitious meal-making plans faster than the fact that rice takes 5EVER to make. |
